Dr. Shuen by far is the most meticulous dentist I have ever dealt with. I was recommended by a friend since I had a very bad tooth ache, to a point that I was ready to knock out the tooth myself. Dr. Shuen was extremely knowledgeable, she explains the options I had and the risk and reward for each, which gave me reassure, even though I just took her recommendation. It was the fact that I had a say in what I wanted, with clear understanding of the benefit.
The office is a little far for myself, but I go still because the quality of care and cleanliness is top notch. Also she is great to talk to if you are not numb up. :)
After moving to Fremont I searched for a new dentist and found her through our insurance's website and decided to give her a try. My whole family finds her friendly, caring, engaging, and mostly, she listens to our needs and is extremely patient and skillful. Unlike other dentists I have been to, she does not push for unnecessary services that have made me distrust some dentists. She explains treatments in details which is reassuring. She can easily be reached by phones and often sends friendly reminder for appointments. I feel my family is under great care and we will continue to go back to her for our dental needs.
I've been proud to call Dr. Shuen my dentist since 2004. During this time period, I have benefited tremendously from her excellent preventative dental care and instruction. Thanks to her regular checkups (cleanings and X-rays) and advice, I've remained completely cavity-free and am more aware than ever of the steps I need to take to remain so.
Dr. Shuen's experience is immediately apparent and she has a very caring and helpful attitude. Indeed, these were factors that led me to continue as a patient of hers when she moved her practice from San Leandro to Fremont three or four years ago.
